Cave Biome Animal Locations

Checked

The Cave biome is a subterranean aquatic zone consisting of dark rock hollows, deep subterranean trenches, and submerged cavern chambers. Unlike sprawling surface zones, Cave features a compact, high-priority roster of 12 marine species. Navigating this sector involves swimming through dark channels, inspecting rocky ledges, and gathering critical parent animals for late-game hybrid crafting.

This guide lists all 12 confirmed Cave biome animals, outlines a disciplined sweep route, and explains how these marine species connect to end-game merge formulas. Cross-check your checklist on /animals or compare zone layouts on /biomes.

The loop for a biome run

Access the Cave biome by diving down through the deep water shaft located on the Snow biome side, which requires equipping a swimming-type morph to descend through the submerged passage. Once inside the subterranean cavern, navigate the chamber in structured steps:

  1. Follow the flooded descent channel down to the central subterranean floor.
  2. Sweep the perimeter rock ledges and stalagmite clusters surrounding the chamber.
  3. Submerge into the aquatic trenches, following underwater walls and floor crevices.
  4. Inspect shadowed rock alcoves and dead-end caves where large marine species swim.
  5. Collect the Cave Biome Vault gemstone before swimming back toward the surface exit.

Important: Do not leave the Cave zone without collecting your core marine predators. Essential synthesis formulas on /wiki—including Leviathan (Secret) and Lionshark (Legendary)—depend directly on base Cave species like Sea Serpent, Giant Squid, and Hammerhead.

Cave gates, quests and chests

No gate or quest counter is recorded for this biome yet.

The Cave biome contains no interactive click chests, numeric keypads, or feeding triggers in verified [240] build records. Marine species in this zone are direct aquatic pickups, though several serve as essential parents for late-game Merge Machine recipes like Leviathan and Lionshark.

What is not confirmed for Cave

All 12 animal names in the table above are fully verified members of the Cave biome roster in official developer data. However, for all 12 entries, the precise hiding spot has no confirmed public source. Detailed coordinate waypoints and specific rock shelf assignments have not been published in verified community walkthroughs. Treat every submerged trench and rocky ledge as an active search area.

Warning on search overlaps: If you are searching for where Megalodon spawns in the ocean or looking for Axolotl, Melanoid Axolotl, or a Jungle biome, that query matches the other game with the same name. In the 280 build there is no Jungle biome, and Megalodon is created exclusively via the Merge Machine, not as a timed ocean spawn.

How to read your count in game

Keep track of your subterranean discoveries using the standard game HUD:

  • Your top HUD displays your global count, formatted as Found: x/240 in the [240] build record.
  • Touching any undiscovered marine creature triggers a three-line popup presenting the animal name, rarity grade, and Morph! activation button.
  • Each discovery permanently enters your morph Index and counts toward unlock thresholds such as the Merge Machine (unlocked at 70 animals found).
  • Check the Index for cryptic clue lines if an entry remains missing. For assistance with final missing roster entries, refer to /guides/last-animals.

If you want to check a spot against real footage, the list source is YulyOnRoblox's Cave biome run. Timestamps in that description mark the start of each group, not each animal.
